The services provided by PL International stem from the experience of its founder Pierre Labuschagne.

Pierre gained extensive experience as a director with Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he provided legal advice on derivatives and related areas of law for 9 years. Before joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch, he was the first in-house lawyer at Fimat, London (now Newedge).

In 2009 he established his own law firm which subsequently merged with Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP where Pierre was also a director at the firm.

He was recently assigned to Credit Suisse through Axiom Law where he did a detailed legal analysis on OTC Derivatives Clearing including client clearing documentation related to SwapClear.

He is a member of the Legal Working Committee of the Futures and Options Association and is also a frequent speaker at Conferences.

While at Bank of America Merrill Lynch he introduced derivatives documentation which is now industry standard.

Prior to entering the financial services industry, Pierre practiced law as an attorney in South Africa and subsequently as a solicitor in the UK, gaining experience at firms such as Adams & Adams in South Africa and Ashurst in the UK.
