About Us

The services provided by PL International stem from the experience of its founder Pierre Labuschagne.

Pierre gained extensive experience as a director with Merrill Lynch International where, until recently, he provided legal advice on derivatives and related areas of law for 9 years.

Before joining Merrill Lynch, he was the first in-house lawyer at Fimat in London (now Newedge).

His opinion is frequently sought by industry organisations such as the Futures & Options Association. Pierre has also been a speaker at Derivatives Conferences.

While at Merrill Lynch he introduced derivatives documentation which is now industry standard.

Prior to entering the financial services industry, Pierre practiced law as an attorney in South Africa and subsequently as a solicitor in the UK, gaining experience at top rated law firms such as Adams & Adams and Ashurst.

Having spent time in industry and private practice, he understands the dynamics of both, and is ideally placed to advise in these areas of law.
